DAIWA Ultimate Aluminium Body Spinning Reel SALTIST MQ – 6000D-H
The 2021 new versions of the Daiwa Saltist MQ spinning reel series, undoubtedly offer the best combination of Daiwa technologies to resist corrosion in the harsh marine environment. The Saltist you have come to know and love has been redesigned and upgraded.
The new Daiwa Saltist MQ reel, features an all-new one-piece Monocoque (MQ) Aluminum body and MagSealed bearings. An MQ frame design allows us to fit a larger gear inside of the reel, adding power and longevity to your gear set.
The most exciting technology in the spinning reel game, is the Daiwa Monocoque body, an one-piece frame – eliminating the use of traditional two-piece Body & Sideplate construction. A single piece body utilizes a screw-in engine plate to house the main gear, reducing flex and twist under load creating a sealed gear box. The elimination of the side plate also has also allowed for a more compact body design as well as room for a larger gear compared to standard reel frame designs. MQ technology not only makes reels stronger & better sealed, but also more compact. Screws need material to grip to, and that means more overall size and more mass in traditional body designs. By replacing the side plate with a machined aluminium engine plate which screws directly into the reel body, MQ reels can maximize the internal space made available by using larger size drive gears than before. On top of the weather resistance added from the MQ Technology, these reels also feature a rubber seal system for the ultimate protection from the elements.
Anglers facing the coastal elements, spray, and other corrosive environments demand that reel performance is preserved, no matter the circumstances. Daiwa have risen to this challenge, by guaranteeing the total sealing of a rotating element – the rotor – against the body. This has been achieved by the application of Daiwa’s MagSealed oil, which is held in place by a magnetic field, preventing the intrusion of water, or other impurities into the mech. The Daiwa Saltist MQ has a structure with no welding and no flanges and this only boosts the overall waterproofing of the reel. It’s also the reason MagSealed oil has been applied to the pinion and on the pick-up roller.
In the Daiwa Saltist MQ 2021, the one-piece Monocoque (MQ) body houses a large diameter Tough Digigear transferring all the power provided by the handle to your line. The Tough Digigear represents a further evolution of its predecessor Digigear, as it is a digitally designed, machine cut gearing system, that ensures ultimate gear precision, rotational smoothness, and strength.
Daiwa’s innovative bail design, features a hollow tubular stainless steel bail, that delivers maximum rigidity and strength with minimum weight. Featuring a smooth protrusion-free design and construction, line easily slides unencumbered along the Air Bail towards the line roller for trouble free line control. The hollow tubular Air Bail pickup arm improves line spooling on the spool for unparalleled performance with even the lightest braids in windy conditions.
